How It Works
Step 1: Tru-weigh comes to you
One of the crew-members at Tru-Weigh will arrive with the expertise and knowledge that you desire.
Step 2: your vehicle is placed on pads
Your vehicle is securely placed upon Tru-Weigh’s scales which are positioned by the crew-member.
Step 3: Your vehicle is lifted
A trailer jack is used to lift the vehicle ensuring that every component is weighed sufficiently.
Step 4: Your weight is determined
A special computer calculates your vehicles weight using sensors in the pads and vehicle jack.

Vehicle Weighs Explained
Gross Combination Mass (GCM)
The maximum total weight of a vehicle and its trailer, including all cargo and passengers, as specified by the manufacturer. Knowing the GCM ensures safe towing by preventing overloading, which can lead to accidents or vehicle damage.
Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM)
The maximum weight a vehicle can carry, including its own weight, passengers, cargo, and any accessories. Understanding the GVM helps maintain vehicle safety and performance by preventing overloading, which can strain the vehicle’s components.
Gross Trailer Mass (GTM)
The maximum weight that can be imposed on a trailer’s axle when fully loaded and coupled to the towing vehicle. Being aware of the GTM ensures the trailer’s axles and tyres are not overloaded, promoting safe towing and preventing mechanical failures.
Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM)
The total weight of a trailer when fully loaded, including the trailer’s own weight, the full load and the weight of the tow ball. Knowing the ATM helps ensure the trailer is within safe weight limits, preventing overloading and enhancing towing stability.
Tow Ball Downforce (TBD)
The downward force exerted by the trailer on the tow ball of the towing vehicle. Understanding the TBD ensures proper weight distribution between the trailer and towing vehicle, enhancing towing stability and safety.
